Sub-specialty Interests
- Evaluation and Characterization of Alzheimers Disease and Other Neurodegenerative Disorders; Neurobiological basis of behavior; neuromuscular diseases.

Research studies have involved both experimental and clinical projects. The experimental studies have consisted of the characterization of metabolic myopathies. The clinical research involves studies of autopsy brain specimens from patients with dementia (including Alzheimers disease), and of brains from infants with developmental malformations.

As a self-described "born again conservationist", Dr. Brumback has recently given the American Society of Primatologists Conservation Fund a substantial donation, which will be targeted for the study and protection of Brumbacks Owl Monkey (Aotus brumbacki).
